"Design for Circularity" is a product series designed with post-use sorting and disassembly in mind by standardizing all its components to polyester.
In recycling textile products, sorting and disassembly processes after collection remain key challenges.
Products containing a mix of different materials require separation by material or disassembly into individual components, which can be labor-intensive and costly. As a result, some collected items may not proceed to subsequent recycling stages.
The "Design for Circularity" series is a line of products designed with post-use sorting and disassembly in mind.
To address sorting and disassembly in recycling textile products, all components are standardized to polyester.
The Ryohin Keikaku Group places an importance on establishing the conditions needed to support circularity. Based on this approach, the "Design for Circularity" series is a phased initiative aimed at communicating our product design approach to our customers, encouraging in-store returns, and, once a sufficient quantity has been collected, aiming to support recycling processes adapted to local conditions.
Products in the "Design for Circularity" series are designed using polyester for all components.
Through this approach, the series is designed to address the difficulties in sorting caused by differences in materials, which has been a long-standing challenge with conventional clothing.
To support post-collection processes, it is important to clearly identify the materials used in a product at the time of collection. For products in the "Design for Circularity" series from Autumn/Winter 2026 season onward:
These measures are intended to make it easier to identify the product during collection and sorting.

The Ryohin Keikaku Group may offers in-store collection for products at certain locations in the regions where this series is sold. However, whether a clothing item may be recycled depends on several conditions, including:
Accordingly, for this series, we are taking a phased approach:
This series is one example of our product design approach, developed with post-use sorting and disassembly in mind.
