On September 10, 2026, we held the “ESG Briefing 2026” for members of the media and investors. This was the second such event, following last year’s, and we presented our initiatives under the theme “Addressing Climate Change and Promoting Resource Circulation Throughout the Product Lifecycle.” Based on our philosophy that “ESG as a Core Business Strategy” the briefing highlighted “Addressing Climate Change and Promoting Resource Circulation,” one of Ryohin Keikaku’s material issues, and introduced our initiatives to reduce environmental impact throughout the entire product lifecycle, from raw material procurement to manufacturing, logistics, store operations, and post-use collection and reuse. The venue also featured exhibits showcasing initiatives related to resource circulation and renewable energy, as well as commercial space solutions designed to minimize environmental impact.

At “ESG Briefing 2026,” Ryohin Keikaku announced a target to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions per unit of sales associated with raw material and material production as well as product manufacturing by 30% by the fiscal year ending August 2040, compared with the fiscal year ended August 2021. This initiative aims to reduce Scope 3 emissions* which account for approximately 96% of the Group’s total GHG emissions. To achieve this goal, we will work to reduce emissions by collaborating with production partners and by developing products that take environmental impact into account from the planning and design stages.
