Revitalizing Regions and Communities through Simple Food
In some MUJI stores, cafes and restaurants have been established that provide menus that are refined, yet simple enough to let the natural flavors come through, and dishes that incorporate uncommon ingredients. Along with MUJI’s products, we provide not only safety but also offer the enjoyment and tastiness of foods that fit various lifestyles and utilize seasonal local ingredients. Moreover, we are also creating community spaces that use the power of food to bring people together and form connections.
Providing Food and Spaces
MUJI’s dining spaces are not merely places to have a meal. They are relaxing spaces surrounded by natural materials where customers can savor food that lets them enjoy the true goodness of the ingredients. They are pleasant, comfortable spaces for spending time either alone or chatting with others. We are proposing a new form of community that enriches daily life, centered around food.
Revitalizing Primary Industries
MUJI places importance on connecting community life and the primary industries that support food. We also work with local governments and other organizations, as well as local producers and businesses to provide production support and sales channels for agricultural, livestock and marine products, develop products that utilize regional resources, and preserve mountains, rice fields, farmland and other growing areas. By creating locally rooted economic circularity in close cooperation with production sites, we aim to realize sustainable communities.
