Fortune Can 10th Anniversary exhibition "CREATIVE IMAGINATION" started
Since 2011, MUJI has been offering Japanese good-luck charms in Fortune Can hoping to bring the fun of folk toys rooted in the region to as many people as possible.
Since ancient times folk toys have been symbols of people’s wishes such as good harvest, healthy growth of children, worshiping ancestors, and local beliefs, which are rooted to Japanese climate and lifestyle. These adorable toys have been cherished by people while possessing traditional cultural background.
The Fortune Can Project celebrated its 10th anniversary this year. We would like to take this milestone as an opportunity to return to the origins of the toys’ power, which is rooted in Japanese culture, and to reconsider with visitors the richness of the pure craftsmanship that makes folk toys, while continuing to deepen friendships with the creators of folk toys in each region.
The "CREATIVE IMAGINATION" exhibition is to discover the possibilities and hints for future crafting in the simple and pure driving force that is not just for mass consumption. In addition to the sale of good-luck charms, Salon will offer sweets made based on those good-luck charms. Also, MUJI HOTEL GINZA will offer a special accommodation plan linked to this exhibition.
We hope that this exhibition will inspire you for a new perspective. We look forward to seeing you there.
